Alan White
Most of my works are hand printed limited edition relief prints using either lino or vinyl. My subjects tend to be figurative, usually retro in style and sometimes influenced by the work of the Grosvenor School of Printmaking which was led by Claude Flight in the 1920's and 30's.
Subjects include film, sport, music, transport and theatre from the inter-war years of the twentieth century. More recently I have been experimenting with Pop-Art from the 50's and 60's.
All my prints are made at BipArt in Kemp Town Brighton using a Columbian cast iron platen press that was built in Fleet Street, London, in 1844. I have previously exhibited at both the Brighton Festival for BIP, The Church of The Good Shepherd in Dyke Road Brighton, and for the last three years, The Affordable Art Fair in Battersea.
